Web page, anyone?

I actually did some work on Strange Gravity (my website). It's still not online yet. What can I say? I get lazy in the summer. I did actually do some stuff, though. I'm working on adding in links. If you have a web site that you'd like me to link to, please comment with the address and preferred title (what you want me to call the site).

Strange Gravity 3.0 - a failure.

I think this is StrangeGravity 3.0. The first was with the theme that "Gravity" was a strange city in my head. Version 2.0 was a failed attempt to use Tiddly Wiki. Even though I did figure out how to fix that, all the problems I had with customizing it pushed me over the edge... and I decided to go with a more traditional web site.

I was going to release my lastest website layout tonight... but apparently, there's a clash between my HTML and the server that's hosting my site. It won't read one of the menus and every file that uses that particular menu isn't showing up.

I guess I will go back and use the (fixed) version of TiddlyWiki. That'll be much easier. *twitch*

Website update

Geek love
After I revealed my new layout in this post and realized many people had problems viewing (or rather, using the links), I tried to find a new layout for my site (since I didn't like the navigation of the old layout very much- but I did like the look of it). Tonight, however, I thought I might have found a way to fix the problem. I took out all of my customizations and returned it to the default TiddlyPedia look.

  • My customization with StrangeGravity

Alternatively, here is a screenshot of the new layout I would go with if I can't fix the TiddlyPedia link problems. I know the menu background might be a bit dark, but there's a mouse-over thing that highlights what option the mouse is over. This new layout is meant to look something like my LiveJournal layout- it uses basically the same/similar colors.

    Happy New Year

Okay, so I gave up my fast and spiritual quest for today. I tried meditating, but it didn't seem to work. I kept wanting to go to sleep. So, at 1 today, I ate lunch. Oh well. So much for that.

Aside from that, I've been watching the Twilight Zone marathon and picking pecans in my backyard- well, was, until it became very windy. I'm also trying to figure out a writing system for my language. I know I came up with one, but I don't know if I'm happy with it. I'm looking through a few books I checked out from the library that compare languages in the world.

Regarding my website, I think I will change the layout. I think enough people were having problems to make the style more problematic than the convenience it provides. I might still use TiddlyWiki for a "Wiki on a Stick" as some kind of virtual notebook I keep on a USB flash drive. Since I'm looking for a new style, it occurs to me that maybe I should develop some kind of purpose for my site. At the moment, the big thing I want to put up is my information about my language - which I still might use as a TiddlyWiki so I can search entries in the dictionary fast.

    Hmm... </ramble>

I've added some more stuff to my website. It's still not in the complete stage, but I've added more content at least. I have run across at least one person who has compatibility issues with TiddlyWiki and is unable to view my site (or more specifically: links don't work). I'd like to find out if maybe it's an isolated cased or a rampant problem. On the poll, the scale goes from 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. I'd also really appreciate some comments if you have the time- particularly if you run into problems.

    New website layout

I've finally uploaded a new layout for StrangeGravity. I'm working on adding content to it. Right now I have a lot of random stuff, many missing links, and Wonderfalls information. I still have yet to fix the link to my language page. The point: I have the layout uploaded. The old version is still up and will remain so until I can get all the content transferred over.

It's now time for me to sleep, as last night my sleep was interrupted by the desire to see what was in my stocking... then to check out my presents more thoroughly... and finally for waffles (big and tasty waffles with blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries on top).

    Wonderfalls-a-thon

[info]s0rr0w and I watched the first four episodes of Wonderfalls today having a virtual marathon together. I also made a few Wonderfalls icons (well, one I made a while ago... but now can actually upload with the increased userpics that was given to free accounts).

Today I also have been thinking about two things:

Oh, and I found this site that has more (and better) pictures of X3 characters.

    Wiki, wiki!

Once I get my language developed enough (which won't be for quite a while... unless I get really bored in one of my classes), I think I'm going to set up an online dictionary/grammar site, a la wiki (Check out the Wikipedia for an example of the style). This would enable me to create a site that's easily modified [easy to add in new definitions]. It also is great because I can have "discussions" on each page so anyone using my wiki would be able to put in input. In fact, other people could even edit the site (possibly- if I grant access) so they could create new words. Yes, that does kind of take away from my language... but I'm thinking words could be added as combination words, such as a word for "breath mint." I would still be the final authority in what goes into the language. [Yikes, that sounds a bit egotistical and selfish.] I might even try to put my current site, Strange Gravity (which hasn't been updated since May), in this style.

I have my website up now. I believe most of the links and stuff work. Mostly. I'm still working on it. Because it is my project for English, I definatley want to get more on it... and I'd also really appreciate comments.

I actually uploaded the version of my webpage I've been working on. Sadly, I'm getting a big error... so no one can see it. Basically, there's some glich not allowing access to my index.html file. *twitch* My website's practically up, though! Practically.

I did actually add something to strangegravity.com today. It's very basic until I get a better site up... and specifically, until I can figure out exactly what's going on it. I am working on it. I have a couple of cool designs on my computer [so far, I've been working with modifying my most recent old site, if you want to get an idea for what it might be like--- of course I'm open to suggestions.

I just wanted to explain that this is a temporary page, but something is up. Hmm... did I do a good job of overexplaining that?

I have chosen a domain and registered it for the next two years. There's nothing there now... and nothing will probably be there... but here's the address and a potential logo (another is seen in my LJ icon):
