Some people spend their whole lives preparing the answer to this question: What albums are on your personal all-time Top 10 list?

A few years ago, I wanted to start a list like this, and I still have that list- but looking back on it, I wonder what I was thinking. Oh, yeah, and of course, my list is going to be a lot of movie soundtracks and classical music- just because I'm more familiar with them and they set the "moods" of my life.

  • Theme from "Evolution" (on the score, it's probably "Firetruck"): I love music by John Powell- the music from Evolution just seems powerful and moving- heroic, in way that when I'm full of energy and well focused, this song comes to mind
  • "Casbah Shuffle" (by the Nuclear Whales Saxophone Orchestra): This is one of my favorite groups, so I have to include them. This is just a great song, not necessarily for any one particular moment, but I just like hearing it (sort of makes me want to dance- be afraid)
  • 1812 Overture: I hate loving this song because I'm a big fan of Napoleon, and this song is all about his Russian campaign and his downfall. It's just incredible music (plus, cannons!)
  • Fish heads (by Barnes and Barnes): It's just hilarious.
  • Amelie theme (La Valse D'Amelie): I especially think of the "puddle music" where she dissolves into a puddle after seeing her love walk away.
  • Battlestar Galactica (original) theme: Same reason for Evolution- it's just a great song I get stuck in my head when I'm feeling good and have things to do.
  • My Weakness (Moby): This song appears in the X-Files episode "Closure." It's a very touching and sad moment, in which this song is perfect for.
  • "Sing, Sing, Sing," by Louis Prima: Another X-Files great song that matches the mood- in this case, it's a chase scene that occurs in two different times simultaneously (what I just said makes sense).
  • Lola: I just like this song. It's funy, and I've found myself humming it quite often. I blame "101 Reykjavik" for it, mostly.
  • "Boyd's Journey" from "Ravenous": It's a really weird song. It's nice music for those times when things are a bit confusing and you don't really know what's going on.
  • As an added bonus, I'll just add on "I Wonder Why the Wonder Falls" by Andy Partridge, just because Wonderfalls is one of my favorite shows and I like the theme.
